Casas de Pueblo

Who are after an authentic spot in the heart of the countryside, and accommodation which combines traditional architecture with modern comforts, decor lavished with attention down to the last detail, spotless cleanliness and warm, personal, professional service.

These rural residences are located in El Borge, some in the centre of the village and others in the surrounding countryside:

CORTIJO LAGAR DE LUISA
Located on an estate covering some 2.5 acres, planted with avocadoes, olives, almonds, fruit trees and a small market garden, El Cortijo, although built in 2000, has been constructed in the traditional, vernacular style of local architecture. Its 15-inch-thick walls, its beautiful sloping roofs, supported by wooden eaves, and the warm clay and wooden floors combine with its rustic, though comfortable, decor, to make Lagar de Luisa a uniquely appealing rural retreat.
It has four spacious properties with separate entrances. Each has a living room with fully-fitted kitchen and sofa-bed, a twin room, a bathroom with shower and a private terrace. 30 metres from the properties, on the estate itself, a small swimming pool has been created, which is open from April to October.
El Cortijo is located 1,800 metres from El Borge, and just 200 metres from the El Borge-Cutar road.

EL BORGE...
the capital of Raisin Country, El Borge is right in the heart of the Axarquía district, which occupies the eastern third of the province of Malaga, flanked by a landscape which ranges from the peaks of the natural park of the Sierras de Almijara y Tejeda to the fertile valleys running down to the coast.
This delightful, whitewashed village of some 800 inhabitants, with its open, welcoming character, is perched on the foothills of Mount Ejido, 237 metres above sea level. Its narrow, whitewashed streets, which bear witness to its Moorish past, are enlivened by the numerous fountains which adorn them. The 16th century church, built in the mudéjar style, the small ornithological park of La Alcua, a curious ethnological museum-bar and the museum-hotel-restaurant dedicated to the cross-eyed bandit ‘El Bizco’, add to the list of local attractions.

El rinconcillo
Built in 1930 and refurbished in 1999, El Rinconcillo is a house of well-distributed spaces, the balconies of the bedrooms overlooking a small inner courtyard, while a magnificent roof terrace offers a view of the village. The ground floor contains a small lounge, a fully fitted kitchen, an inner courtyard and a bathroom with shower. On the first floor is a spacious twin bedroom, the stairs leading up to the roof, and a second bedroom with double bed and toilet. El Rinconcillo is on a pedestrianised street 100 metres from the village centre and the church square.

La Candelarica
A traditional two-storey village house, built in the late 19th century and completely refurbished in 1998. Recycled materials were used wherever possible in the restoration work, and particular care was given to converting what had been a ruin into a cosy house. The upper and lower parts of La Candelarica can be rented jointly or separately, and the property has full kitchen and bathroom facilities.
La Candelarica is strategically located on a pedestrianised street, less than 100 m. from the church square and the centre of the village.
