Matisse, Balthus, Chagall, Dubuffet, Giacometti, Magritte and Miró are just some of the 20th-century artistic icons represented in the exhibition ‘The Pierre and Maria-Gaetana Matisse Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York’, which the Malaga Picasso Museum will have on display from 26 March until 24 June 2007. The paintings, sculptures and drawings which make up the extraordinary body of work here is a selection from the donation made to the renowned New York art museum in 2002, from the private collection of art dealer Pierre Matisse and his wife, Maria-Gaetana von Spreti.
