| Despite climate change, the heat, and at times the cold, continue to strike other regions of the planet more heavily than the jewel of the Mediterranean which is the Costa del Sol, where in fact we are experiencing one of our mildest summers ever.
It is not for nothing that we describe the Costa del Sol as Spain’s most complete tourist destination, and here’s the proof. Over the course of these pages we take in the beauty of the province’s eleven yachting marinas, along with plenty more elsewhere in Andalusia, where life is to be lived by day, and more so by night. All these locations, as well as providing a place to drop anchor, offer dreams of an enviously glamorous way of life, the chance to have dinner or enjoy a drink in the most romantic and attractive spots, where the only sound is the slight slap of the waves against the hull of the yachts and the gentle tinkle of the sailing boats’ lanyards.
As a follow-up, we at the Costa del Sol Hoteliers’ Association urge you not to miss an event which comes around only every two years: the ‘Málaga en Flamenco’ biennial, with a programme which, in the months of August and September, will be filling auditoriums along the whole coast with the finest exponents of Flamenco guitar, singing and dancing in Andalusia.
But as is now traditional, this summer edition is packed with suggestions as to how best to enjoy the high season on the Malaga coast. Dance, music, theatre, major open air concerts, even movies on the beach (in Torremolinos and Mijas Costa) are all on offer, without overlooking Malaga’s most festive week at the Feria de Agosto. The choice is up to you...
